I built this while working FIFO myself — trade assistant, 3:1 roster, Karratha. Every piece came from a problem I had on that roster, not from a product brief.
The cubes because packing at the end of a swing shouldn’t take an hour, and because finding one thing shouldn’t mean unpacking everything.
The shoe bag because work boots are the bulkiest, dirtiest thing you carry, and they don’t belong loose against clean clothes. It takes a pair of Steel Blue boots in AUS 47 with room to spare — I sized it around my own. And if you fly in your boots, it travels empty and earns its place on site instead: crib containers to the shift, or a towel, gloves, water bottle and a dry shirt to the gym before dinner.
The laundry caddy because a plastic basket, if the room even has one, doesn’t travel to the laundry with you and has a way of disappearing while your clothes are still in the machine. This one is yours, it closes, and it carries over your shoulder.
